MakerfAIRe
MakerFaire is a festival dedicated to science, technology, and creativity that promotes learning in a fun way. People can create their own handmade objects from jewelry to 3D-printed action figures! We felt right at home demonstrating all the skills we use during the season.
ThinkBig
ThinkBig is a 3-day event that centers around robotics, science, and tech. Along with having many booths, ThinkBig has live performances and great food! It's an exciting family-friendly event that allows our team to teach our community about STEM, robotics, and coding, and the other many skills learned with FIRST.
CoeurFeST
CoeurFest is a 1-day event that brings people of many different skills and abilities together. It celebrates the community of North Idaho. We demonstrated what our team had done throughout the season and what robotics is about.
Tesh
Tesh is a program that gives the opportunity to anyone with a mental disability a chance to get out into the community and grow. They train people for jobs and help grow the mind and abilities of everyone involved. We had the opportunity to help out by building a fiber optic star ceiling that we installed into one of their sensory deprivation rooms, shown below.
Summer Camp
When we aren't able to go out into the community, we like to bring the community to us. We host summer camps to teach people about the different aspects of robotics. We challenge the campers to design and build a simple robot by the end of the camp.
AeroSpace Expo
The Aerospace Expo is a gathering of STEM-related companies that present what they do and share the impact they make. Showing our robot at this event gave us a chance to talk to these businesses and develop new ideas for future robots. We also demonstrated how the skills we learn through FRC can be used in the future.
